Forms, shapes and painting with Paper Clay

Here are some basic shapes I am working on with paper clay.  It has been relatively easy to work with, and fairly easy to smooth.  One of the biggest things to remember is to let it dry a little before you work on smoothing out the surface.  Kind of like giving it a hard crust and then you can use a damp cloth which acts like sanding.. except it actually fills in the low spots.  this is a really nice perk of paper clay.  Some people call it cold porcelain, and I can see why.  It does look a lot like cured porcelain when it is dry.

It is also a pretty strong material as far as that goes.

My next experiment with it is to paint it onto a surface and see how that works out.
